Biomedicine is a new type of products, the development of which Shanghai Huayi (Group) Company has paid great attention to. The enterprises involved are Shanghai Pacific Biological High-Tech Co., Ltd and Shanghai Huayi Biotechnological Co., Ltd and so on.

The products having been successfully developed or put into production are the following:

1. Polypeptide Biomedicine

A candidate medicine for the cure of II type diabetes (YST), a double valence polypeptide foot-and-mouth disease vaccine and a reorganized salmon calcium reducing medicine have been developed. A technological platform for large-scale low-priced production of medium length polypeptides by the method of genetic engineering has also been established.

2. Nucleoside Intermediate

There are mainly ribosidoadenine, cytidine, guanosine, uridine and the like.

3. Nucleoside Biomedicine

Several new medicines will soon be placed on the market, e.g. 5-deoxyfloxuridine capsule, raw medicine and preparations of adenosine triphosphate.
